Robert Glas is an artist, photographer and documentary maker. He investigates the relation between the individual and the state. More specifically the way in which the state uses regulations and technologies to enforce the law.

In this episode of our Designalism Podcast, Robert talks different techniques the Dutch government use to profile citizens and people who seek asylum. During the project, he had to evade quite a few obstacles. For example, not being able to photograph inside detention facilities. Robert: "You can only do that if you're a journalist. So after I heard that, I started working for a magazine, just for this project."
